Blended Learning Activity

Hi guys!


          Welcome back to my blog. In my post today, I would like to share about blended learning activity. To make all of you understand about it, I will explain it. 
           Blended learning is an education program that combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods. In a blended-learning course, for example, students might attend a class taught by a teacher in a traditional classroom setting, while also independently completing online components of the course outside of the classroom. 
           The benefits of using blended learning activity are to improve communication between the teacher and the students, the teacher and the students can access the course content whenever they need, and so on. 
          I have made one blended learning activity. The topic of my lesson is about Christmas. I choose this topic because now Christmas is coming and I want to the students make something for the Christmas. This activity is designed to help the students practice reading and writing. 
          The learners are eighth grade students of Junior High School. I will give two meetings to do the lesson. The time allocated is 80 minutes.
         What is the students have to do are:
1. I will show the picture for the triggering questions. After that, I will ask what do you think about 
    this picture? then I will ask what do you feel when the Christmas is coming. 
2. I will show the story about Christmas Day.
3. I will show again the story about Christmas in Indonesia. After they read it, I will discuss the 
   story. I will ask about the students' opinion about it. 
4. I will show the video about Christmas celebration.
5. I will show the video about how to decorate Christmas card.
6. I will show another video about how to decorate Christmas card.
7. I will ask the students to read how to make Christmas card to make the students understand how to 
    make it.
8. I will ask the students to make Christmas card by follow all the steps and decorate it.
9. When the students to make Christmas card, I will show the video song. I will show it to make the 
    students spirit of making the Christmas card. 

          
            When I become a teacher later, I will use it to teach my students because I think this lesson is very interesting and the students won't be bored. In blended learning, we can attach video, picture and article from many resources to teach the students. If there is any the student do not come the class, the student won't be worried because he/she can open the lesson from the internet if the teacher using blended learning activity. So, the lesson is very useful.

    Hello!
    Honestly, I do not know why so many students use "Christmas" as their topic. Maybe, it is because we are near from Christmas celebration, hahaha.

    Then for your blended learning is quite interesting. The explanation is also very good and easy to understand. All people can understand and try to make it on their own.
