Hi guys!!!
This is my last assignment of CALL subject. In the last assignment, I would like to share about SAMR. What is that? Let's me give you the explanation.
SAMR is a model designed to help educators infuse technology into teaching and learning. SAMR has four levels:
1. Substitution
Teachers or students are only using new technology tools to replace old ones. (MS Word)
2. Augmentation
We are still in the substitution mentality but this time with added functionalities. (Blog, Google
Docs).
3. Modification
This is the level where technology is being used more effectively not to do the same task using
different tools but to redesign new parts of the task and transform students learning.
4. Redefinition
Students use technology to create imperceptibly new tasks. (Video)
Below, I will use a modification of a lesson plan I have made. I put the format from BBC teaching English. In my lesson plan, the students will discuss about the pictures that the teacher was shown, the students will work together to categories the words and phrases under the four headings given, the students will write a paragraph about the topic on their blog, the students will give comment/suggestion to the other pairs, the students will work in pairs to design their own poster and the last the students will present the poster.
